Just some reminders for myself, various perspectives.
A core principle of the Universe: Every creature and thing and substance simply changes, mostly because each obviously is an influence to and is influenced by each other (and itself), hence the flow of perceived activity. The existence of the Universe is because of change, why it is possible to perceive the Universe.
Without change there would be: complete peace; no activity of life; no differences to observe; no activity to inspire interest from anything else; complete stillness.
There is what has happened (memory). There is what can happen (fantasy inspired by memory). There is what oughta happen (desire). What will happen is (present).
Time is merely a perspective of change (time [words--general.htm]). There is no prior existence nor future existence, as existence is merely the observation of the present, neither memory nor desire but instead what is perceived as different [life-universe-everything.htm].
A few core principles of a lifeform.
The main motivation of a lifeform is personal comfort.
Empathy naturally occurs from the accidental motivation arising from observation (t.i. from various senses), which automatically inspires imitation of (or the attempt of performing) an observed change. This is regardless of whether with an object, with another lifeform, or with an event.
Similarly, imagining a direction for oneself inspires change.
For example, while standing imagine a string attached to the top of the head pulling straight upward, a suggestive aid for standing like a tree (or post) when practicing qigong. No muscles can pull the top of the head upward, but the body responds anyway with a (perhaps surprisingly relaxful) straightening of the spine, sometimes with a relaxing of the shoulders (perhaps spreading outwardly), too. The body attempts to be what would result if there were a string attached that was aiding in the support, even though it is only being imagined.
That is an example of imagination as a substitute for observation of an actual circumstance. Another example is the association of memory with a cirucmstance leading to a self direction with no external physical influence, perhaps to an emotion [words--general.htm].
Make and do with what is available. [See: a bird nest.]
What is put into practice creates opportunities, as what is done is an influence upon self and others.
Side effects are additional opportunities for responsibility. Rather than eschew (or ignore) responsibility of side effects, consider a different approach for a different set of opportunities.
Persistent mis-takes are the steps of refinement.
No body makes it out of life alive.
As we walk by each other in our lives, let us each be comfortable with our passing.
