Words and phrases I tend to be careful about using, as for whatever reason other people have a different understanding, t.i. mean something different. Meanings change, so this list might be behind my times. If I laugh, maybe consider the possibility you might have said something on this list.
An observation of repetition, "time" is only a number, a count of the number of times a similar change has occurred. That is, the frequency of similar events consistently repeated a number of times (f.e. movement of something) is often referred to simply as "time".
For example, the change noticed of the dripping of water, the melting of a candle, the pouring of sand, the shadow of something from sunlight, and so forth.
The past is only memory of confirmed events. Though the past can be re-imagined, the past lacks the substance of reality, especially as recall tends to be inaccurate. Re-imagining the past prevents experiencing what is given in the present.
The present is simply the experience of the constant change and transformation of everything. Existence as it is perceived.
The future is an unconfirmed fantasy, lacking the substance of reality. Imagining the future distracts from experiencing what is given in the present.
An unacceptable reason [#].
An acceptable excuse [#].
A direction, but not the opportunity. A choice is a guess at a direction that would lead to a desired opportunity. Hence, the choice is not the desire, instead an opportunity beyond the decision is wanted.
What is put into practice creates opportunities (a core principle of lifeforms [perspective.htm#3]), some that are desirable though all the opportunities are consequential. Similarly, a choice leads to a plethora of opportunities, perhaps a few unforseen that would be desired, perhaps many that would be less easily appreciated consequences. Again, an opportunity beyond a choice is what is desired.
For example, consider choosing to get into a car in order to get to a destination. The destination is the desire, what is wanted. Getting into a car is a setup for a car accident (by definition: unintentional), and putting on a seatbelt is preparing for such an accident. The choice is to use the car for reaching the opportunity, the choice is not for any of the risks and consequences. What is desired is the destination, but what is chosen is the approach.
As another example, the present moment (t.i. current circumstance) is also reached by making choices, as well as additional factors (f.e. influences) that are not chosen. That is a result of one of the core activities of lifeforms: make and do with what is available [perspective.htm#3].
The circumstance is not what was chosen, and the circumstance can be acknowledged and accepted without actually wanting the circumstance. The circumstance simply is what is [perspective.htm#2].
The decision to reprioritize without further ado, f.e. when a task is satisfactorily completed, or when a suitable resource is obtained, or a course of action is decided.
Illegitmately reprioritize, f.e. by means of making an excuse.
Cease participation by declaring perfection [#].
Legitmately procrastinate [#], f.e. by means of giving a reason [#].
It i'n't happening today; tomorrow i'n't looking too likely either. But maybe someday.
The day an event will eventually occur, if at all. Someday tends to occur in some week, which tends to be in some year.
Also uncommonly known as the eighth day of the week, because whatever was to happen has yet to happen during the week, and it is seeming unlikely to happen by the final day of the week; but maybe it will, or someday.
Interestingly perplexing.
Unbelievable. Without credentials. Without readily verifiable references, f.e. newspaper articles.
Energy for action, as in "e-motion", t.i. energy motion. There are a plethora of approaches for applying energy towards a direction, t.i for enacting motion.
For example, anger is a focused determination, often much along the lines of tunnel vision. Straight ahead, straight down the middle, push every else aside, "forward ho!". A contrast to anger, happiness is an unfocused release of energy (no specific opportunity desired), can be haphazard (f.e. tossing confetti or shooting upward with guns), and perhaps cyclical (f.e. uncontrollable laughter).
Though anger and happiness each has been observed sometimes resulting in violence (t.i. greatly energetic), the extreme release is merely part of the approach rather than any of the clumsiness on the way to the desired opportunity (similar to choice [#]).
For clarification, there is just emotion, rather than many emotions. The words describing the approach (happy, sad, angry, and so on) of applying the energy or describing the motivation are often confused with the the energy itself (which is always neutral).
Personal emotion is always a personal responsibility, as it is associated with personal priorities. Obviously, emotion is unmanageable within lifeforms other than oneself, as the responsibility belongs to those lifeforms. Thereby, it is irresponsible to blame someone else for personal emotion, because the priorities belong to oneself rather than to someone else.
On the other hand, acknowledging external influences are a momentary distraction from the current interest, perhaps because they trigger emotion for unrealized personal priorities, is an opportunity for taking on the responsibility of such emotion attached to those additional personal priorities competing with the original interest. Or, at least consider disengaging from the environment that inspires feeling distracted (though delaying addressing those additional priorities). While that might seem like admitting to a weakness (that of being distracted), acknowledging the circumstance is also that of taking on the so-called "weakness", t.i. not ignoring it.
Either way, addressing personal emotion is one way of developing focus and effective determination. Interestingly, changing personal response to the influences from the environment also changes personal perspective of the environment itself. This is partly how changing oneself changes the world, because the perspective of the world is changed for oneself (by oneself). This is addressing the personal discomfort (a core principle of lifeforms [perspective.htm#3]) that sometimes arises from a personal perspective, potentially revealing the actual world (or another misperception of it).
Sensing impossibility while repetitively failing.
Discomfort accepting failure, or residual discomfort when remembering failure.
EFT aids in reducing the intensity of flashbacks, post traumatic stress (PTSD), regret, self-abasement, or similarly overwhelming memory recall. Such memories displace the visual, aural, emotional, and sometimes even the physical experience of the present moment. The approach of EFT is by the means of all four of those memory characteristics (Memory management with EFT [human-memory.htm]).
Additionally, EFT is one approach for detaching or dissolving emotion [#], t.i. energy for motion or action. Thereby, the memory becomes completed, t.i. no longer a priority for change, and appropriately so as it is only a memory rather than the present [#].
Different. Yet to be appreciated. Unfamiliar.
Readily appreciated. Familiar.
Different. Possible, but unlikely. Unexpected at the moment. Unfamiliar.
Beyond what is understood. Beyond what is natural as it is known to someone; supernatural.
Unworldly. Sanctuary for convalescence.
The initialism for "what's the fantasy", or similar:
Knowing nothing. (There is nothing derogatory about being stupid.)
"You are stupid."
"Hmm? What would you like me to know?"
Ignoring something. (There is nothing derogatory about being ignorant.)
"You are being ignorant."
"Hmm? What am I ignoring?"
A setting or the core resources of an activity. For example, oil and canvas as the medium for a painting. Another example is the news mediums: television, newspaper, radio, and so forth.
The phrase "the media" begs the question "what kind?", such as magazine, book, tape cassette, wood, oil and canvas, and so forth. The correct question is more likely "for what?", such as painting, distribution of music, publication of news, and so forth.
Yin-yang is a pair of perspectives: "on the one hand" and "on the other hand". Neither yin nor yang contradict or neutralize each other. As concepts, neither exists, they merely reference.
Consider looking ahead and observing the flow of traffic, flowing in one direction. Now, turn around 180 degrees, as implied by the typical yin-yang symbol. The traffic appears to flow the opposite direction, but is actually still flowing the same direction as before. The difference is merely a matter of perspective of the same circumstance.
Consider facing towards a light. Now, turn around 180 degrees. There is a shadow ahead. The light still flows the same direction as before, and the shadow flows with it.
Yin and yang are references, or reference points, thereby are easily mistaken as substances when in statements quoted out of context.
